Abstrak

Small group and individual teaching skills are fundamental pedagogical competencies for elementary school teachers in the modern education paradigm. This approach facilitates the creation of intensive interpersonal relationships through limited instructional interactions, both in groups (3-8 students) and individually. The main objective is to accommodate the diversity of student characteristics, which include differences in cognitive abilities, interests, talents, and unique learning modalities. This study uses a library research methodology by synthesizing relevant pedagogy textbooks, scientific journals, and academic literature. The results of the analysis show that mastery of these skills can significantly improve the effectiveness of social communication and make it easier for teachers to diagnose learning difficulties with precision. In addition, this strategy provides space for students to construct collaborative skills through group discussions while building self-efficacy through supportive personal interactions with educators. Furthermore, this competency is highly relevant to the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes differentiated learning, formative assessment, and student-centered learning principles. Thus, mastery of small group and individual teaching techniques is not merely a technical skill, but a crucial foundation of teacher professionalism in realizing an adaptive, inclusive, and high-quality elementary school learning ecosystem.
