Abstrak

There are many contemporary phenomena that we must face. Contemporary phenomena
such as globalization, secularism, and pluralism have had a significant impact on
religious life, especially faith among today’s youth. Contemporary phenomena have
influenced the faith of the younger generation in several aspects, such as changes in
understanding of god, decreased commitment to religious teachings, and the emergence
of religious pluralism. Then several factors such as religious education, social
environment, and mass media play an important role in shaping the faith of the younger
generation. In today’s era, there have been many deviations from faith. Contemporary
phenomena provide complex challenges fo faith.However, with strong knowledge, critical
attitude, and spirit of preaching we can keep our faith strong. Easy access to information
makes faith increasing lower. Various information, both true and false, can influence a
person’s beliefs. Technology such as social media can cause misleading information and
damage faith. Because social media opens up space for anyone to talk about religion, this
cause fragmentation or division of understanding among the people. However one the
other hand, technology can also be used to spread preaching and religious knowledge.
Therefore, we must be careful in using social media so that we are not easily influenced
by deviations related to faith.
