KONSEP TA’LIM DALAM ALQURAN: (Analisis Terminologi Dan implikasinya Terhadap Pendidikan Islam Modern)

Abstrak

This study aims to comprehensively describe the concept of ta'lim (learning and teaching) in the Qur'an and formulate its methodological and substantive implications for the modern Islamic education system. The term education in Islam is often narrowly reduced to the formality of cognitive knowledge transfer. However, the Qur'an uses a variety of theological-educational terms rich in meaning, including ta'lim (learning and teaching). Using qualitative methods through a thematic interpretation (maudhu'i) approach, this study analyzes the derivation of the root word 'alima specifically the wazan fa''ala (yu'allimu/ta'lim) in key verses such as Surah Al-Baqarah: 31, Surah Al-Baqarah: 151, Surah Ar-Rahman: 1-4, and Surah Al-Nahl: 78. The results indicate that ta'lim, in the Qur'anic conception, is a comprehensive process that positions Allah SWT as the Supreme Educator (theocentric). This process integrates all human potential including hearing, sight, and conscience and balances mastery of theory (the book) with practical wisdom (hikmah). The study's conclusion confirms that curriculum reconstruction based on Qur'anic study requires a fusion of the dichotomy between religious and general knowledge and a strengthening of spirituality as the basis for the formation of a revelation-based civilization.
